Musing: How (not) to drink coffee

I am sitting in a coffee shop.

I have been working on data analyses for the last three straight hours.

I just picked up my coffee and tried to drink it.

Out of the wrong side of the lid.

It proceeded to spill all over my face and dress.

And I inhaled some.

Thankfully, my friend was on hand to go fetch me napkins.

So I could attempt to salvage my dignity...

So that this calamity might never befall you, I am going to show you how to drink coffee correctly.  This handy diagram should clear up any misconceptions you've had about proper imbibing techniques.

Godspeed, my friends.

Drink safely.

  1. My beverage consumption will be safer from now on because of this timely piece of advice. Bless you. ;)

  2. Hahaa, love this. Oh, coffee, so mischievous but so delicious!

  3. Haha, perfect. If it's any consolation, the other day I just missed my mouth and poured coffee down my shirt instead. You know, because sometimes its hard to tell whether the cup is actually against your lips or not...

  4. So glad I'm not the only one to do this! And laughing whilst drinking a coke and having it gush from your nose- any tips on that one?

    1. I'll consider that and get back to you. ;)
