Holy smokes!  The Dark Unwinding has a sequel, and it's all pretty and shiny and printed in proof copy and ready to go for real on October 1st!  What I wouldn't do to get my hands on one of those ARCs.  (Disinherit a crazy old coot?  Yeah, just might do it if my payment was a copy.)  I read the ARC of The Dark Unwinding last year and in case you're not as freaking excited about A Spark Unseen as I am, you should read my review.  It was one of my favorite books of last year, so much that I featured it in my list of Awesome and Underrated YA titles.  It combines historical romance, steampunk, and psychological thriller in the cleverest of ways, with a heroine who's as clever as she is admirable and a swoon-worthy male lead--and NO insta-romance or love triangles to be found!  I know, I know.  You're defibulating yourself right now.

Still not convinced?  Check out A Spark Unseen on Goodreads and don't forget to swing by The Dark Unwinding too.  Oh, and check out Sharon Cameron because not only is she an adorable human being (as evidenced by her cute red hat and the delightfully sweet e-mail she sent me last year), but she has a gorgeous website.

And if you were lucky enough to be in NYC (unlike this here chick, who's unlucky enough to not be anywhere near all these great tours), I hope you got a chance to see Ms. Cameron at the NYC Teen Lit festival. Yes I know it was forever ago. I just saw the pics on her facebook and got all sad and mopey. Hush.  Keep tabs on her Facebook for more news.

I am. This book. Why have I not heard of it before? If I had an ARC, I would so give it to you. I hope you do find one or have to chance to read excerpts or something. Sounds great! *Adds to GR* *looks at TBR* *sighs*

    1. I felt exactly the same way when I read it! It's everything I love about YA with none of the things that make me feel strangly. I hope so too! If not, I'll wait until October and read it the day it comes in the mail. (Ah, the TBR. I hope you get to read it soon!)

Also, I just realized the typo in that bit you excerpted and just about died. Fixed!
