Cover Love: Out of this Place by Emma Cameron

cover love

This book sounds pretty cool, but the cover drew me to it.  I love the silhouettes, what's implied there, what's hidden and left to be wondered at.  And the text is fantastic.  Reminds me of the cover for Jonathan Safran Foer's Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, which is definitely a great book in the highest sense of the word.  Anyway, I love covers where text runs the show, and this font just seems a little fun and quirky.  It's just nicely laid out.

A fantastic song from my favorite band of all time.  Yeah, I'm not-so-secretly in love with Kurt Cobain.  That's probably less obvious since you don't hear me obsessing over him all the time.  But anyway, he was brilliant and this rendition of David Bowie's song (another great guy) is hauntingly beautiful.

  1. the silhouettes are a brilliant idea, but the love triangle isn't my kind of thing -.-

    1. I also dislike love triangles, but I think I couldn't read many YA books these days if I avoided them completely. :/

  2. I like this cover too. It has kind of a late 70's, early 80's beach vibe to it.
