Book News: Didn't go to BEA / BookCon? Check out these places for the galleys you crave!

book news               bea finds

If you didn't get to go to BEA this year but just can't wait for one of the snazzy books, fear not!  The internet has you covered.
So, don't buy ARCs.  Seriously.  Kittens will die and you will be blacklisted for the rest of eternity.
(And look back on S&L for some of my own BEA giveaways!)

  1. I was lucky, my blogger-kid worked it at BEA and snagged many of the books I wanted to read (JESmith, DLevithan). My highlight was going to BookCon with her -- meeting E Lockhart and giving a "secret" password to acquire the new Libba Bray book. Lots of fun. Why, oh why, must the Con move to Chicago next year!!!!

    1. That's great! I didn't go to BookCon, but I'm glad you had fun. Seems like it got a good turnout. Haha, I suppose so that the peopel who usually have to buy pricey tickets to New York (like myself) can drive this time. ;)

  2. I found a lot of great titles at BEA. I missed out on a few, but I'm okay with it. Great post for people to find books that they might get instead of purchasing ARC's illegally thru e-bay.

    1. I only missed one of my must-haves (the elusive Truthwitch), luckily. But it's not the end of the world. Thank you! That's what I hope to discourage, in addition to helping out other readers who wouldn't buy an ARC but still missed out.

  3. I just got my approval for Lair of Dreams this morning. I am excited, but Illuminae is the one I am absolutely dying to get a hold of. Thanks for the heads up on the getting on NG, fingers crossed.
