  | The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
It's not that I don't want to. It's just, I kind of missed this when it first came out, and now there are more of them, and now there are other books, and after Shiver I'm afraid of being disappointed... |

To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
I guess when this came out it looked kind of fluffy and pink for my tastes, but I've since heard so much praise for Jenny Han (including her fabulous wardrobe) that I might give it a try. Eventually. |
three |
| The Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
Again, this one was a misfortune of timing. I had so many ARCs going on (I know, poor, pathetic me), and then BEA happened, and now I just don't know when I'll get back to it. Also I'm still mourning the fact that it is not, as I'd thought before, an Alice retelling. |

 |
The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
I wasn't sure I'd like this when it came out last year (?). Then my cousin told me it was great. But, alas, I still haven't gotten back to it. I'll probably binge-read it just before the movie. |
five |
 | Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
I KNOW, OKAY!? Don't kill me! I don't usually do cutesy romances but sometimes I like them but I haven't gotten to it yet, even though I almost did, but then ACOTAR came out. *hides from retribution* |
six |
 | The Young Elites by Marie Lu
I hate samplers, because then the story ends abruptly and I have to get into it all over again when it comes out. So after BEA, I just never got around to the full book, and I've since heard mixed reviews. Probably someday. |
seven |
 | Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
I usually love witty retellings from the villain's perspective, but this one's been so mixed. Plus the author defended Kathleen Hale and that makes me get rage claws.
|
eight |
 | The Selection by Keira Cass
Her name is AMERICA. Do I really need more of an explanation than that??? |
nine |
 | The Girl at Midnight by Melissa Grey
It's sitting on my living room table. Probably accruing late fees. I know I'll like it. I just need a free weekend...
|
ten |
 | The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh
So, uh, yeah. About those late fees.

I've only read one book by Jenny Han. I liked it but haven't been obsessed with reading more yet. I've met her and she's super nice - which does make me want to read her stuff more.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize until recently that she'd done Burn for Burn. She just seems so sweet, but I'm not sure if her books are my thing.
DeleteSo many great books on this list! I loved The Raven Boys, The Young Elites, and The Wrath and the Dawn. I also still need to read To All the Boys I've Loved Before. Great list!
ReplyDeleteCassi @ My Thoughts Literally
Thanks! Hopefully we'll both get around to them.
DeleteLove the Raven Boys! I ended up not finishing The Young Elites, I just kinda lost interest :( I loved her first series though. I need to read #9 and #10 for sure!
ReplyDeleteAshley @ The Quiet Concert
I definitely need to read Legend. I'm so, so very far behind.
DeleteI've only read three on your list! So you're not alone!
ReplyDeleteYay! It's not must me! Let's start a club. :D
DeleteI only read two from your list and started two others but put them down
ReplyDeleteNo Shame Girl!! Someday I'll read the others if I'm still interested
I know, I know. I need to read what I want, not what I think I should.
DeleteEek! The Young Elites and Red Queen are absolute favorites of mine! :) I hope you enjoy them when you read those books! (IF you decide to read those.) :)
ReplyDeleteJulie @ Books and Insomnia
I hope I do too! They're definitely on my short list. (Unfortunately, it's a long short list.)
DeleteI felt the same way about The Raven Boys before I read it! (I DNFed Shiver, by the way.) I didn't love it, but it had a really unique plot that I appreciated! I thought The Young Elites was okay, but definitely meh compared to Marie's other books.
ReplyDeleteI actually didn't like To All the Boys I've Loved Before (the MC was a bit immature for me), Red Queen (it was way too generic and romance was horrid), The 5th Wave (there was instalove around the halfway point that seriously creeped me out), Dorothy Must Die (the humor did not sit well with me) and The Selection (I liked the writing but everything else, not so much).
Geez, this comment got negative pretty fast...
Anyway, I'm still pushing you to read Anna and the French Kiss--it was one of my gateway books into YA contemporary a few years back. :)
Ooooh okay, that gives me hope! I've heard that The Raven Boys is so much better and not as slow.
DeleteI remember seeing your Unpopular Opinions post with Red Queen. I want to give it a try, but I do have a problem with generic stuff. (UGH INSTALOVE DIE.)
Haha, I guess you're just picky? Nothing wrong with that.
Anna is sitting right near my bed. I just need to bring it on a flight and binge-read it or something.
