c.j.'s selections ten ten ten | ||
one |
| Crooked Kingdom - Leigh Bardugo As of when you're reading this, my copy will be on its way. I will arrive home from work and it will be waiting to tear my heart out. If you haven't read Six of Crows yet, you're missing a hardcore adventure with some kickass characters. |
two |
| Still Life With Tornado - A.S. King I've never met an A.S. King book I didn't like. Her last couple have been so fantastically weird, I can't wait to see where this one goes. Girl seeing her past and future selves? Yes. |
three |
| Caraval - Stephanie Garber I've been waiting for this one, guys, to savor it. I'm a sucker for fantasy lands with deadly games and pretty, pretty covers. |
four |
| Gemina - Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff After Illuminae killed me and left my heart in ruins, I'm finally ready for another chapter in this freaking amazing space opera of wonder and death. |
five |
| Fate of Flames - Sarah Raughley Diverse fantasy with elemental magic. Please, hold me while I swoon over here. I'm super excited to hang out with the Effigies. |
six |
| The Female of the Species - Mindy McGinnis Yeah yeah, everyone already knows about this and I'm late to the party, but I want to join the party! I'm psyched for something dark and vicious and poignant. |
seven |
| Aerie - Maria Dahvana Headley I can't believe Magonia isn't a sensation. It's so beautiful and magical and ethereal, with a smart sassy heroine and adorably nerdy love interest. And magic bird people! Sky whales! I'm pining for the sequel. |
eight |
| The Weight of Zero - I'm really hoping this one is good, because I'm all about amazing mental health rep. This main character struggles with her disorder in personified form, which is pretty cool. |
nine |
| The Diabolic - S.J. Kincaid I've heard from trustworthy sources that this book is mindblowing. I mean, it has a steel butterfly on the cover and it's about intergalactic political schemes. So... yes. Grabby hands. |
ten |
| The Blazing Star - Imani Josey Badass black girl road trips to ancient Egypt with her sister and a fellow classmate. Just let that sink in. |
Crooked Kingdom and Gemina are two of my most anticipated releases too. :) Hopefully they meet our expectations! Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous choices! <3
ReplyDeleteThanks! I hope you love them too. Come tell me when you finish. <3 :D
DeleteI'm also late to reading The Female of the Species, and I'm hoping to get to it someday. But I think my next read will most likely be Crooked Kingdom, and everything will just be pushed back...until someday
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic picks! I just grabbed The Female of the Species today. :)
ReplyDeleteYES to GEMINA! OMG I can't wait to dig into that book!! Fate of Flames and Carnival both sound amazing too :D Hope you get to all of these this Fall^^ xx
