Announcement: Where C.J. has been all this time, aka I love you please forgive me

here, have a cat

Hey, lovely readers!  C.J. here.

Some of you may have noticed that I've been absurdly absent lately. Over the summer, someone in my family died, suddenly and unexpectedly. I can only refer to him as my second dad, because there's really not a convenient term to describe how important he was in my life.

So I've been a mess.

I've been trying to buck up and get things done, but I've been in a bit--a lot--of a spiral. You know it's bad when you can't even read because your brain is going too fast. (Although, The Hazel Wood is keeping me afloat anyway with its creepy prettiness. I'll have to re-read it when my heart isn't breaking.)

Sarcasm & Lemons isn't closing. It's just sort of a mini-hiatus, aka C.J. will post when she can but she's not going to force herself to post because she's already living on the knife-edge of a panic attack and self care and all that jazz.

And dear Whitley just moved into a new house, so she's been all sorts of busy unpacking and doing repairs.

I love all of you who have stuck it out with me. I'll still be doing all my obligations (blog tours and such). I apologize immensely for all the review books that haven't gotten proper reviews yet. When I'm a little more afloat, they'll be the first to get attention.

You can still find me on twitter @sarcasmlemons, where I've been quite a ghost but will still check my @s daily. I 1000% appreciate any messages of support and/or gifs of floofs. If you'd like to support me more tangibly and like weird jewelry, check out my Etsy shop, Dose of Distraction. The Halloween collection is being updated daily.

Hopefully I'll be back soon, but mental health comes first. In the meantime, you can find me this Thursday (10/12) on The Fox's Hideaway book blog, where I've compiled a special essay about depression and anxiety for Holly's and Shannon's great feature, Shattering Stigmas. I hope you'll all go support their great awareness event.

Love and cheers,

  1. I'm sorry about your loss CJ. I'm sure the mini-hiatus will help.
